Here are some games I enjoy playing that I wanted to share with you here on my blog, because of their nostalgic content.

If you are easily offended by violence or foul language, don't watch any videos in this post, otherwise enjoy.

Nostalgic PS3/Xbox 360 Games

Red Dead Redemption is an open world action-adventure Western video game, developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games. Most of the game's story takes place in the year 1911, during the decline of the American Old West. The game follows John Marston, a former outlaw, while he sets out to hunt down his former gang members. Marston's wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a bounty hunter. Having no other choice, he sets out to bring his three former gang members to justice.

This game has amazing graphics and is one of my favorite games to play. You can see what I mean in this three video play list, which concludes with a 30 minute mini-movie.

L.A. Noire is a 2011 neo-noir crime video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detective, to solve a range of cases across five departments. Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the players' success at these activities will impact how much of the cases' stories are revealed.

The game draws heavily from both the plot and aesthetic elements of film noir, stylistic films made popular in the 1940s and 1950s that share similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex, and moral ambiguity. The game uses a distinctive colouring-style, but in homage to film noir it includes the option to play the game in black-and-white. Various plot elements reference the major themes of gum-shoe detective and mobster stories such as Key Largo, Chinatown, The Untouchables, The Black Dahlia, and L.A. Confidential.

There are more cases available as downloadable content for this game. Another favorite of mine with unbelievable graphics, as you'll see in this two video play list.

Mafia II is a third-person action-adventure video game. It is developed by 2K Czech, previously known as Illusion Softworks, and is published by 2K Games.

The game is set in the 1940s-1950s era of Empire Bay, a fictional city based on New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston and Detroit. There are 30-45 vehicles in the game as well as licensed music from the era. The game has three different in game radio stations, Empire Central Radio, Empire Classic Radio and Delta Radio, with licensed music, news, and commercials. The radio stations includes music from different genres including rock and roll, big band, rhythm and blues, doo-wop, among others.

Along with the other music in the games radio stations, Mafia II, to me anyway, has one of the best music scores ever written for a video game.
Original Music Score

I used to have Mafia 1 for PC. I was able to utilize full creativity customising the vehicles in the game. I am unable to do that with the PS3 version I own, but the graphics, storyline and downloadable content make up for it. Here's another two video play list for Mafia II.

Nostalgic Facebook Games
Trainstation
When I was a child, I always wanted to collect Lionel trains. But I was one of eight kids my parents raised, so it wasn't in their budget to afford such an expensive hobby for me. Playing Trainstation has brought back the kid in me with hours of enjoyment and has digitally helped me to somewhat full fill a childhood dream.

This game takes you through the history of trains, from the very beginning to the present day. Along with the game, it features an image museum. The trains you collect by advancing in the game, can be viewed there, along with historical information about each model built. You collect the trains by operating your own train station. If you enjoyed playing with and collecting trains as a child, then this is a wonderfully programed application to add to facebook. To get the most out of this game and collect added features, it is best to connect to the game directly through their website at the link I'm providing below. You can connect to facebook from there as well.

To play Trainstation,

Car Town

In this game, you operate your own car repair shop. You can collect cars, earning coins by performing repair tasks and racing other players in the game. Among the many activities you can perform in the game, you can restore classic cars. This is also a great game for race car fans because you can collect vintage to classic race cars as well.

I particularly enjoy this game, because there's a feature which allows me to utilize my artistic abilities by completely customising some of the cars I collect.

To Play Car Town,

All these games are full of nostalgia and fun to play, so I just had to share them here at:
